Dana Escamilla Founder / President

Dana Escamilla is President of Taste of Reality in Los Angeles, CA, responsible for managing all facets of the business. Taste of Reality was born when Dana noticed a trend that she and her girlfriends loved to hit up the hot places they had seen on their favorite shows like The Hills and Real Housewives of Orange County. As a reality TV and travel junkie, she started paying more attention to the “virtual tours” the cameras were giving of the cities and experiences as they were following the stars’ daily lives. Once the seed was planted, all Dana could see was the data behind the drama.

Prior to starting Taste of Reality, she worked for big corporations in marketing communications and a boutique digital agency managing the magical inner workings of web design and development.

These days, when she’s not watching WAGS and strippers turned chart-topping hip-hop stars (looking at you, Cardi B), she’s either traveling the real world or hiding behind the gates of her native Orange County, CA.


Troy Turner Co-founder / Creative Director

Troy Turner is the Creative Director of Taste of Reality in Los Angeles, CA, spearheading all things editorial and visual. After producers did not approach him to star a 7th season of The Hills (rude), Troy was inspired to partner in Taste of Reality, parlaying an innate affinity for reality TV into a career. In a brash Brandi Glanville kind-of-way, he left his tenured position in digital advertising to pursue Taste of Reality.

In addition to Taste of Reality, Troy is a freelance copywriter, the Senior Editor of the world’s leading industrial design magazine, Yanko Design, and a member of the LA Models men’s board since 2009. You may have seen him in such roles as the “Mercedes-Benz DILF” or “masked man in obscure Russian magazine.”

Troy is also the proud dad of Mister Nugget, a world-traveling wiener dog who provides emotional *wink* support *wink* on his many trips and global excursions.
